Introduction to the Program

This four months’ long Professional Diploma Program is designed to train mid and senior-level hospital managers. It aims to enable participants to understand the role and functions of hospitals and to study the strategic management, planning and policy issues that arise in the development of contemporary hospital and healthcare systems.

Scope of the Course

It is envisaged that the course will introduce the participants with modern management concepts as applicable in hospital settings. This will equip them with vision and skills to adopt evidence-based problem solving approach in their own job place. A hospital’s structure, medical and diagnostic resources, support services, skilled manpower, finances, material management, decision-making processes and marketing issues will be discussed.

Teaching Methodology

The learning environment will be one of active classroom discussion involving the application of lecture material to various hospital scenarios including case studies. Multiple Choice Questions / Assignments / Tests would form a necessary element of course delivery.

q Health professionals already working in managerial positions of hospitals, large-sized organizations, NGOs, etc

q Health personnel (including doctors) interested in management oriented jobs of hospitals (public as well as recognized private sectors)

Schedule?

Date: Starting in April, 2010 - LAHORE (Two days a week and three hours a day on Thursday, Friday or Saturday.)

Time: 1600hrs - 1900 hrs

Poonch Road. Chooburgi , Samnabad, Lahore

Eligibility:

Candidates must be a graduate in any discipline. Those who are studying in the final year of the Professional degree programme or are awaiting results can be provisionally registered. Healthcare professionals having experience will be given preference.

Course Fee:

For Joining New Diploma Programme

Fee per module = Rs.7000/-

Discount = Rs.8000/-

Total Fee for the Diploma Programme= Rs.48,000/-

For Joining Existing Diploma Programme:

Total Fee = Rs. 56,000/

Discount = Rs.16,000/-

Net Fee Payable = Rs.40,000/-

(Those joing existing Diploma classes will later on attend make up classes for the missing three modules that have already been completed by the class.

Besides tuition fee, it also covers cost of course material / CD, certification, light refreshments and study visit(s) to hospital.
